Now Hiring for:

Estimating Manager

We are currently seeking an Estimating Manager to oversee the Project Estimators as they analyze drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Projects include large commercial office buildings, multi-housing apartment complexes, and public parking garages.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a relief valve to assist Project Estimators with precast takeoffs for bidding purposes
  • Confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Note: Most of this communication is handled directly by the Sales Department, with only infrequent direct involvement by the Estimating Department
  • Collect historical cost data from the Accounting Department to estimate costs for current and future products
  • Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors (ex: outside drafting & engineering services; freight, erectors, etc.)
  • Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as long-term planning, organizing, and scheduling work
  • Receive from the Sales Department all pertinent documents including property plans, technical drawings, and project specifications
  • Decide on the optimal allocation of human and material resources for scheduling the bidding backlog
  • Negotiate on an irregular basis with some service providers to secure better prices
  • Provide precast product takeoff information to the Scheduling Department to determine how the project fits within the production queue
  • Weekly review pending bids with the Pricing Committee to establish the profit margins.
  • Process requests for cost evaluation and Change Order Requests (i.e.: COR’s)
  • Process document preparation for job turns upon being notified by the Sales Department of award of the project

Requirements:

  • Construction estimating experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret technical construction documents
  • Excellent math, analytical, and computer skills
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent time-management skills
  • Must be able to interact with clients and internal personnel in a professional and effective manner
  • Management/supervisory experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required

Now Hiring for:

AutoCAD Drafter

We are currently seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to join our team. In this role, you will translate information from architectural and engineering contract drawings into the creation of precast concrete shop drawings. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday; some overtime may be required.

Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Detailing of structural and architectural concrete panels, beams, columns, double tees, and hollow core plank
  • Ability to perform tasks in a timely manner with accuracy
  • Must be detail-oriented and have good time-management skills
  • Must have good written and interpersonal communication skills and be able to double check work and interact with engineers and other personnel
  • Previous work experience as an AutoCAD Drafter
  • Must be proficient with AutoCAD software
  • Knowledge of mathematics and architecture
  • Technical degree and knowledge of Revit helpful but not required
